Neurology Referrals

Welcome to the Neurology and Neurosurgery Referral Service

We offer a monthly neurology and neurosurgery service at the clinic. This service is run by Dr Katia Marioni-Henry an American and EBVS® European Specialist in Small Animal Neurology.

Dr. Katia provides in-depth investigations into an array of neurological conditions. Neurological conditions affect the brain, spinal cord, nerves and muscles and include inherited conditions and those that are a result of trauma to the patient. We are proud to be able to offer a visiting onsite MRI to the patients that visit our neurology service a service offered by only a few clinics in Scotland.

What conditions do we investigate and treat:

• Seizures and Epilepsy
• Brain Infarcts
• Caudal Cervical Spondylomyelopathy (Wobbler Syndrome)
• Vestibular Syndrome
• Diseases of the Brain and Spinal Cord
• Brain Malformations
• Spinal Cord Tumours
• Meningitis
• Fibrocartilaginous Embolism

The diagnostic process might include a combination of blood tests, diagnostic imaging, cerebrospinal fluid sampling, and tissue sample collection. After a diagnosis is reached, Katia will talk you through options for therapy, which might include drug therapy and/or surgical management.

We are proud to be able to offer a visiting MRI service to the patients that visit our neurology clinic; a service offered by only a small number of clinics in Scotland. We will be offering neurology clinics on the following dates:

• Monday 20^th May
• Monday 17^th June
• Monday 15^th July
• Monday 12^th August
• Monday 9^th September
• Monday 7^th October
