Katia is one of the most experienced veterinary neurologists in Scotland, boasting over two decades of experience in the field and a diverse professional background. She received her training in Italy and the USA,  and has served as a consultant in some of the largest and most renowned private referral veterinary practices in England. Additionally, she has held academic positions at two American universities. Over the course of nine years, Katia founded and contributed to the growth of the Small Animal Neurology/Neurosurgery service at the University of Edinburgh.

Katia is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and she takes great pride in having mentored numerous students, neurologists, and surgeons in both the USA and UK. She has published extensively in scientific journals and has presented at international congresses, including the 2023 ACVIM forum in Philadelphia.

Her areas of interest encompass feline neurology, neuromuscular diseases, movement disorders, and the medical and surgical treatment of intervertebral disc disease. Katia is dedicated to providing the highest quality care possible, and she empathetically tailors diagnostic and treatment options to meet the needs of both pets and their human companions.
